Do I need to wear a wet suit?

Wet suits are not required. Some people feel more comfortable in a wet suit but many swimmers wear just a swimsuit, especially in July and August. You can check the water temperature here to determine what will work best for your body.

 

Can I wear earplugs?

We strongly advise against the use of earplugs as they inhibit swimmers from being able to hear our safety paddlers.

 

Can I wear fins?

We aim to always swim as a pod. As such, fins are welcome to those who are frequently falling behind the group. If you typically find yourself at the front of the pod, please refrain from wearing fins to ensure we remain at an intermediate-level pace.

 

How do I get a green River Hugger cap?

Upon successful completion of your first chaperoned swim, you will be awarded a green River Hugger cap to wear when you swim with the Huggers.
